They get to choose a gold-level Obamacare policy and receive federal subsidies that cover 72 percent of the cost of the premiums. 28% of their annual healthcare premiums are paid with pre-tax payroll deductions, dn they also have acces to " “free or low-cost care” through the Office of the Attending Physician and “free medical outpatient care at military facilities” in the D.C. area.
Before Obamacare, they got F.E.H.B.P.. An even better deal. And what they would get if they managed to get the SC to end ACA.
Meanwhile 20 million + Americans are w/out health insurance. And millions more would be stripped of health insurance if the SC had ended ACA like the GOP wanted.
So why are you against Americans getting a policy just as good and inexpensive as congress critters?
What about when the Republicans embraced a taxpayer-financed government bailout of Wall Street . That was socialism in my book. How about farmers getting taxpayers to pay a significant amount of their income fora while as a result of the trade war? There are many other examples. I remember how Obama bailed out the banks.

So for you, cheap health care is everything. Quality of said health care will not remain the same, but as long as it’s cheap and accessible, we’re good with less quality. Before you answer, please don’t tell me you can have it all. You can’t. Then we get to the ramifications of all that wealth redistribution. Less money in our pockets. Less money in the entrepreneur’s pocket. Less innovation. Less productivity. Rising unemployment. Poverty. Bread lines. Venezuela.
Many of your ilk look longingly at Europe and their form of socialism. It’s obvious to me that you have few actual interactions with Europeans. Quality is lower and wait times are longer. You’ll point to lengevity figures but that has less to do with health care than it does eating habits. Many Europeans wish they had our health care. I guess things are always greener elsewhere.
Anyone who chooses socialism over their grandchildren needs their head examined and I have no respect for their intellectual curiosity.

What are police departments? A collective force protecting the population. Same with ambulance services, firemen etc.
What is a health department? A collective force protecting the health of the population.
What is a school system...A collective force aiding the education of the entire population.
Libraries, court system, traffic signals, road workers etc etc...ALL instituted for the good of ALL..
The very definition of action to aid the social fabric of a community.

Well, I'll speak on behalf of the UK and say very few want your health system. Ours may not be perfect and has its problems but we love it. It is the most popular institution in this country and we are proud of the NHS and the people who work for it.

Clips I see on TV show hospitals with no or very few private or semi-private rooms. Not sure if what I'm seeing is dated.

Union are a lot like swarms of cockroaches - mindless group of creatures swarming over crumbs, each one totally worthless.

Nobody ever said they weren't going to be strained to the max.
But back in April/May, I was told we would soon COLLAPSE the system if something wasn't done NOW (ie. LOCKDOWNS). That was back when there were only 25,000 cases per day....

It's is deaths that are the real statistic.
I really get a kick out of all the discussion of "cycles" in the testing process. It is nothing more and nothing less that a diversion.
Testing really accomplishes one thing. If the results come in fast people testing positive can assist in tracing by creating a list of those who they have been near recently.
But, the real issue with the spike in cases as it relates to hospital care is that people who test positive just don't get admitted to hospitals as Covid-19 patients. To get admitted you have to show up with a positive test, and real symptoms of being infected in a serious way.
The other important number is deaths. People don't die because they tested positive. They die because they got Covid-19 and their condition went downhill and ultimately they died from the disease. But, they didn't die from a test. Deaths is a stat that counts. All the other contortions that lay with cycles and the such are one big diversion. Testing has a place, but what happens to real people who show up sick and then don't make it is far more important.

Except the lockdowns were definitely based on case #s.
And lockdowns are definitely not a diversion to anyone.

Have any of the big mouth small brained governors ASKED FOR THE HOSPITAL SHIP that Cuomo REFUSED TO USE SO THAT HE COULD MURDER 10,000+ ELDERLY?
FAUXVID-19
Open up all businesses
PACK THEM SOLID
Do not wear masks
Do not social distance
Seek out your elected officials and kiss them on the mouth
