Meadowlands t'breds to return in 2020?

According to the Big M's website,Monmouth Park intends to pay for the track at the Meadowlands to be converted to dirt for a 2 month meet from Oct. to Dec.

If it were up to me,I would shutdown Monmouth before Labor Day and run at the Big M until around Thanksgiving.

Maybe they can bring Dave Johnson out of retirement to call the races.

Great news!
Always loved the Big M at night.
Hope they continue that schedule.

That basically was the schedule for many years until the Meadowlands started to struggle financially. I'm sure the horsemen will be happy to have an additional two months of racing for Jersey breds. The keys to it working, as in the past, will be keeping some horses in the northeast in the fall when there's already a shortage everywhere, and the weather holding out long enough for the turf course to remain viable for most of the meet (which will be October 2nd to December 5th, if Monmouth follows through on the plan). Two big ifs, in my opinion, but I always liked playing Meadowlands at night back in the day so I hope it is successful.

I will be looking forward to it.

Hard for me to justify an hour drive for 6 races. Bring back the main track and get a full card.

Speaking of the turf course, it looks pretty bad on TV yesterday....more dirt than green?

I'm sure the Sports Betting Law had a hand in this ...along with all the others that have their hands out...

Well it's a compromise to attract dirt horses.

Oh, the old hybrid track!
Track condition - partly fast, scattered firm spots.
