I would have to say that Tim Tetrick has that something extra compared to the average driver....He can rate a horse as good as anyone, and horses seem to respond to his touch, and most are willing to give their all, when he asks them for it......Still, he is often too aggressive in certain situations....I think this may be due to the "over-hype" by the trainer or a training-up for upcoming good form...or, wringing the sponge dry when knowing that the form is regressing...
Corey Callahan, has been one of my pet-drivers these past few years, but it seems lately the crowd and the backstretch guys are beginning to realize the truth of this guy's true abilities....He can rate a horse very well, and for me that is the most important thing a drive can do, as I don't think you can be a champion driver in the long haul without that special-skill...CC is still improving with each drive, and I think a very reliable driver in that sense...
I suppose if CC got the more alive drives that TT gets, it might be different, but TT, would still be "my" go to guy, on a live horse, if forced to pick a driver....
