Do you collect anything?

Horse racing removed from the equation. What do you collect?

I used to collect 1:18 scale diecast cars. The collection got big and took up lots of room, so I liquidated most of it...kept a few Mustangs and old pick ups.

I have always dabbled at collecting baseball cards. I used to love Kirby Puckett, but that changed when I learned how much of a scumbag he really was.

My theme in collecting baseball cards has been to collect the MVP, Cy Young, RoY and Rolaids winners in the year that they won the award.

I am thinking about a new theme in card collecting: Knuckleball pitchers.

What about you?

1. US quarters*
2. Old children's books - or really old books in general when I come across them. By old, I classify anything printed before 1950 as old. I have some books from 1919 and a few from 1920's. But most of these are temporary collections till I find a suitable venue to sell them. So they keep getting rotated.
3. Gemstones, especially unpolished ones. Again, mostly collected from value proposition angle.
4. Phone numbers of beautiful women/girls.

Currently I am collecting US quarters by the state, just because a friend of mine gave me a pretty velvet case with all the states and blanks. I casually look at quarters when I get them and if they are a shiny and of a US state I don't have yet, I then hold on to them till I get home, then stick it in that book.

I have a few coins, some stamps, a big collection of vinyl, CD's and concert related memorabilia and just recently started gathering some late 1800's style woodworking tools.I don't dare use any of the old ones, so I'll be making copies and using those.

Years ago, for the souvenir aspect of it, I used to collect losing bet tickets, but the bag got so big I didn't have the space for them any longer.....Thank God for modern day- "digital tickets"..

I used to collect wine but kept drinking it. Then vintage portable typewriters. But I like to move every couple of years and they are a pita to move! Then on to cocktail shakers- easier to move and actually usable.

I used to collect coffee mugs. The small collection was lost in a move last year. I am thinking of starting a new one.

I had a collection of sports trading cards ( baseball, football, hockey, basketball). Have some really cool ones, Henry Aaron playing for Milwaukee, Roberto Clemente, Whitey Ford, Roger Maris was worth the most ( it was his Cardinals card, but he is wearing his pinstripes in the pic ). I also had a couple dozen baseball coins, not sure how many here remember those. Had some comics, stamps and coins also but nothing to get excited about.
