Mohammed Ali's How To Place Bet On Favorites For A Living ...
Has anyone heard of "Mohammed Ali's How To Place Bet On Favorites For A Living" ? If so, what are the specific rules and does it work consistently? I tried to find it online but could not. Is it out of print? I appreciate all and any help. Thanks in advance.

I read several more articles on this topic. There are a few things you should know about it.
1. It is mostly about Exchange Wagering.
2. It is about "Place Bets," which, in the worldview is what we call show betting.
3. Whatever he is doing, I doubt you'd be able to do it with really significant bet sizes in the US because of the ADWs' forced restrictions (by the tracks) on creating negative pools.
4. The info is at least 20 years old, and therefore, highly doubtful it has not been (at least indirectly) accounted for in today's wagering arenas.
Still, like you, I'd pay to read it. :-)

They've made it impossible to select & copy with a mouse, but forgot ctrl-A, ctrl-C. LOL
Here's some meaningful stuff from that page.

"How to "Place Bet" on favorites for a living" ??
I seem to recall reading this years ago, and finding it unworkable, but I noticed a re-surge of ads for this system. Anyone read/use it and have success?

It has 7 rules to identify the horses, then finding "hot" and "super hot" favorites and then 5 ADDITIONAL modifications to get to his alleged 96% place (US show) strike rate. The flaw would appear to be his using an average $3.20 show payout on these favorites. With most US races averaging well under 10 starters, the likelihood of a 60% return on a favorite to show seems a dream.

I tried this "system" about a year ago. Logically, it looks great on paper. Keeps you from making dumb bets and betting with emotions. However, the only way to make decent money is to lay down large $$$ bets to make a little. And as we all know, they don't always pan out. One loss wipes out gains for a day/week.

I remember this ad when it came out and No this is not the Muhammad Ali
we came to know as a fantastic heavyweight. I remember the guys picture
and it wasn't the Muhammad Ali I thought it was going to be and also i was
advised that PLACE bets really meant SHOW bets. Jogged my memory for a
while.

I can tell you from experience that I am able to hit around 80% to place (US place) on select short prices horses. I was profitable years ago flat betting to place and getting a rebate on top. That was approximately in the 2005-2007 period. I'd find a couple of plays a day looking at the major tracks, but primarily in NY where the take was lower. Sadly, those days are pretty much gone. Net Pool Pricing reduced my average place return by about 3%, the rebate I had available then was lowered by 4%, NYRA raised the take from 14% back to 17% around then, and the pools are now more efficient (especially late money making it more difficult to estimate prices). On rare occasions I'll still check the place pool because so few serious players (other than maybe the computer guys) seem to pay any attention, but even though the place pool is probably still less efficient than the win pool, imo it's not by enough to find systematic or frequent plays.
