If you are truly looking for value---drop that place bet, Dan. That's for amateurs and bettors without confidence. You're just throwing money away. Whatever wager you decide on--put it all to win. If you continue losing money, it's obvious you need a better selection method.
Keep a separate bank for win, and another for your place bets. You'll soon find place bets kill your bankroll. My motto is "if the horse can place-he can win"
My first suggestion would be to find a more accurate selection method. I admire your handicapping outside the box...but the info you painstakingly compiled...was already done for you.
Here are the top E-1 from every race taken from TRAINER MOVES:
1ST STRAIGHT TO GO xxx
2ND CENTSLESS DRAMA $7.60
3RD FAST LOADED XXX
4TH GREATEST GLORY xxx
5TH BATTLE CHARGE XXX
7TH I AM THE BOSS $4.80
8TH THE DISTRACTOR $13.60
*remember...the figs are AVGS of best 3 or last 4, unlike Platinum which is based off the last race ran. If only using early speed for sprints (under 7F)...you would have still shown a "win bet" profit.
also when looking for early speed--stay with dirt sprints, for now.

Here is the main speed from the Pleasanton Fair meet. For some reason, they are only running horses--no fair going on now. It's scheduled for next month, I believe. I go every year (there wasn't a fair last year, due to covid). I was looking forward to one of those 18 inch corn dogs at the fair No one in my family wants to go to just the races...so we'll stay home again.
Here's the speed at P-town today:
PLEASANTON
1ST- FLAG SALUTE- SHARP CURVE
2ND- LADY CHROME- TROUBLE IN PARADISE
3RD- GRAY GEM- HONG KONG COWBOY
4TH- TED - TRASH TALKIN CAT
5TH- STONE GROOVE - DONT TEASE THE TIGER
6TH- COUSIN EDDY - AMITY HARBOR
7TH- ALVAARO -RESPECT THE HUSTLE
8TH- LEADVILLE - ICE OR FIRE

This is good advice. I've checked it many times when I've had a run of everything I bet running 2nd.

As much as I used to hate Gulfstream...I'm their biggest fan now.
Parx, Gulfstream, Tampa, and to a lesser extent Belmont, and Presque are the tops, with GPX way out in front.
Hit another nice pick-4 at the Gulf today:

Used ABILITY with all but the last maiden race...most of those horses had already raced at that level or lower, so it was a crap shoot. JULIE BIRD was tops in speed--but has done nothing but burned money in her short career-so I went with #2 speed SASSY CAT in her place.
