Why Don't PP's Include Temp?

So I just realized that thoroughbred PP's don't have temperature listed in them. What I found odd is believe harness does. Or at least they used.

It doesn't seem like a big deal but its insanely hot every where today. A bunch of horses will throw in clunkers as a result.

Also there's a long history of horses hating the heat. John's Call and Funny Cide are two that come to mind.

Good question. I believe you're correct, in that harness races have that info (or at least some of the circuits). Seems it would be easy to provide.

Plenty of angles temp info could be used for - past performances on very hot/cold days, correlating use of lasix with temps, charts of times with temp and course conditions, etc.

And of course Cratos and his minions would love calculating air densities and energy profiles....

Part of the reason, idk maybe the only reason, harness pps include temp is because you will see faster times.
Keeping a record of the temp could be of value for TBs, if you keep your own notes it would be better, all your own. Makung a record of who is washed out,etc would be even more valuable.

Finally we're asking the important questions. I'm so pumped.

Forget competency from stewards, timing races right, making sure jockeys are putting forth effort, etc.

The important stuff is temperature in PPs

Why not both? Or in this case all of the above?

You were the one that said to pick your battles, right?

This is a battle you want to fight? Temperature in PPs?

I think you're confusing regulatory battles involving multiple government agencies with asking 2-3 privates companies to add a data field.

Yeah that must be it. I'm confusing something. It's never you, has to be someone else because as we've seen, you're very smart.

Hey, good luck getting this VERY important addition to the PPs taken care of. In the meantime the real horseplayers will be dealing with real issues that impact us.

I'd like to know if the trainer has had any recent purse money held up pending a possible drug test positive for my $10.00.

Absolutely correct. Harness times increase pretty dramatically over the summer months.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day Pickle.

Was it something nice, respectful, salient I said?

Of course I'm willing to retract it.

I wanna be ostrich sized 24/7 or not at all.

What an ironic post. Your entire post is a plea for me to kick a guy while he is down but I'm the troll?

The faux insider role is an important one on a message board and you're not bad at it. You're not real good at it either and threads like this happen. All in a day's work I guess.
