New dirt track for 2019
At canterburypark.com/blog/ is a an article about the remaking of the dirt track after motorcycle racing this fall.
They will return the track to the 1985 specifications. So 2018 pars may be unreliable.
The site has many photos of the process if you've never seen a track being redone from the ground up.

Here's a link to the Minnesota Mile (motorcycle) telecast:
https://www.facebook.com/AmericanFla...3972468488344/
One rider was claimed and had to leave his house and move to a new home. Another rider was considered a bit rambunctious and his team owner decided to geld him. Saddest of all, one of the bikes broke down midway through the race and the rider was humanely destroyed.

yes very sad news on Mike. What a good guy. His poor family. Regarding the track at Cby. In 1985 the year they opened the surface was the best in the country. Guys like Sandy Hawley, Mike Smith, etc. etc. were absolutely raving about it. Then in the fall they removed the top cushion for the standard breds to run on. The base was never the same and the truck was just another track ever since. Completely redoing it is a great thing.

I went there a couple of times in their first year, and I remember the dirt was dark brown, unlike any other track I ever saw.
