He's not crazy...but he probably sees the (potential) financial impact of all of this, or his wife and/or her family are putting their foot down because THEY see the (potential) financial impact of all of this...
It's pretty easy to see what's happening here...

What you say makes sense - curious, though, is there evidence of this? I believe he has two (?) main sources of income: music and licensing for various product lines. Any idea if these are under pressure?
