Nothing new for them. Belterra is just as bad.
I always wonder how long slot machines are allowed to go in repaired at racinos.

LRL, R4, 11-10.
The footnote in the chart does tell you the final time is a hand time due to a malfunction of the new GPS system in us at this track. If you lump this time in with the electronically time races you are going to overrate this race at least four or five lengths in my opinion, probably more.

GG R2 on 11-11 is timed WAY too fast by the GPS system. If correct you'd have a 20k claimers that could easily win the BC Mile.

Nothing new there.
MVR is also seriously struggling with timing races, especially fractions.

There are a lot of shaky times from the bad weather day at AQU, 11-15. I think Trakus is much closer to reality on many of these from that day.

This is very disappointing as the system was successfully tested for many months before going on the market. The problem is that the current timing systems at several tracks is so error prone that it must be replaced. Hopefully, the GPS problem is just a hiccup caused by faulty installation, like the crappy job they did with putting in the synthetic surface at Santa Anita.
Somehow they never have these timing problems with Track and Field in the Olympics. What system do they use there?

Tested successfully? By what measure? Who did the testing?
I think track uses photo finish stuff for timing, easier to do with no run up.

It seems to be working in England for some time. Maybe they're not installing it correctly here. As a figure maker I would imagine you would want to question them on any U.S. inaccuracies and get them to answer some hard questions on the details of their record here and there.

How does anyone really know how well it is working in England? What is the benchmark?
Trust me, I'm asking lots of questions.

I trust you.
I'm also wondering what they use to time human track meets in the Olympics. They never seem to have problems there. They are so sensitive they can detect if a runner jumps the gun by putting pressure on the starting block 1 hundredth of a second before possible human reaction time. World class sprinters in Olympic finals have been disqualified before the race even began based on that alone. That's what I call reliable.
Has anybody thought if this technology could be used in horse racing?
Here is an example:

Hand timed fractions and final time are reflected in the chart:
22.20 44.79 56.77
