Children can be taught discipline and responsibility without corporal punishment. Again, private and parochial schools do it today.

On the other hand, you might wonder if school shootings and teen suicides started increasing when the moonbats and the teachers unions and the federal government started gaining control of the public schools.

Just passing on what worked to keep me in line back in the day. I was always an honor roll student, but got in my far share of mischief. The fear of my dad catching me doing something I should not and taking a belt to my ass kept me in line somewhat in my preteen years.

The problem today is too many parents not READY to PARENT. Being a parent and actually parenting are two totally different things. Too many kids being born out of wedlock to parents who are still kids themselves.

I haven't seen any poster here call for that as a viable option.

Placing armed security guards in all schools in stillwater oklahoma has worked great, by the way the security guards are paid for by a civilian not government.
What a joke.

(A) who cares how a mentally ill kid or adult gets a gun or weapon? Legally or not, it's a lethal problem.. It's happening.

(B) I had to look up the "civilian" funded security guard thingy... Mullet cut Mike paid 35 grand in April for ten schools until the end of the school year. That's 35 grand for only about seven weeks of protection....He hasn't committed funds for the next school year from what I've read

To somehow claim victory on this action is funny as hell. A small town has armed security in schools for about a month, and "it's working great". Entertainment here at its best

A--Because all the anti American gun grabbers say its to easy to get a gun legally however this just proves they get them illegally and we already have enough gun control laws in effect we dont need anymore.

b- Mike will continue to pay when the new school year starts. It must be working because they didnt have any school shootings during that period.

On the other hand, USA Today recognizes a difference, saying that these weapons are "less lethal" than assault weapons. That will be welcomed news to the deceased.
In one of these debates last year, I mentioned to Dahoss the carnage a shotgun could do in a small, enclosed area like a classsroom. No doubt the media is disappointed that this latest shooter didn't use a semi-auto rifle. Even CNN might be a little hesitant to start editorializing over Uncle Fred's duck gun.

Edit: on second thought, CNN probably will.

You mean an AR-15 type assault rifle? They have doctors interviewed who have operated on people recently shot with 5.56mm AR-15 rounds saying they have never seen anything close to the horrendous wounds made by assault rifles out of all the gunshot wounds they treated. Eyewitnesses have said the Texas shooter shot multiple people at close range with his shotgun, yet no one is talking about the mess that makes of a living being.
