aside from a few stake races and some nice 2YO FTS events, it's the same slow plodders we've been seeing downstate this year

what is it with the slow dirt surfaces anyway? are they safer?

Unfortunately, two of the three turf races will have four horse fields.
There a few very nice dirt races today though.

Race 5 at Delmar is a total calamity. Two horses get loose and are scratched. Lengthy delay. Say what you will about the NYRA , they have best gate crew in country.

Saratoga has seeded the Late Pick 5 with $100k Saturday to atone for last week's issue.

5PM: 70%
6PM: 78%
7PM: 89%

Fourstardave set for 5:44PM, sits right in the thick of it. Guess we'll find out.

Albert Hammond wrote a song aboutSaratoga.,

Seems it rains at Saratoga, every weekend
Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before
it allways rains at Saratoga,
But girl, don't they warn ya?
It pours, man it pours.

Will they take the races off the tutf this weekend?
And how many scratches will there be?
The MTO'S look so slow,
I guess it's time to go to
OTB, OTB.
