R9 Saratoga G3 Forbidden Apple 7/12/19

Solid first day, and on to the next.
Very much better card. How about this G3 Apple?

Gidu: Last two look to be competitive, and getting better. Really interesting horse at a price.

First Premio: Always in the mix, but doesn't win as many races as he should. Graded Stakes company has been his Kryptonite.

Hembree: Always sensibly placed, and always with a chance. Exotics for me, but he wouldn't surprise me on top.

Offering Plan: Will need some pace in front of him, but with Brown as the trainer this guy will get bet. Heavy. Deservedly so. Anything over 5/2 would be surprising.

March to Arch: Can run as good as any in here. Rolls in off a solid work. Should be a price to watch.

Made You Look: The 'other' Brown isn't too shabby. 2 and 3 back are maybe winning races in here. Cannot dismiss for the win.

Voodoo Song: Little left as to know what he needs to do. Get to the front and wall them all off. Long layoff was likely needed, but this is a tough bunch after 9 months on the bench.

Qurbaan: Wasted a ton of money on this horse only to see troubled trips and what could have been. As a 6YO, he should be running better races without much trouble all the time.

Mr Havercamp: He can run with these on a good day. Question is whether it will be a good day. A lot of chances against these peers without much success. Exotics bound.

Doctor Mounty: Would be quite shocking if he finished in the Exacta. Johnny V is inspiring, but not much else.

SUMMARY: I like the Offering Plan at anything over 4/1. Ex Box. For now.

Qurbaan = OBVIOUS class, horse to beat... not sure what's up w/ the 6/1 morning line...

but I do think w/ Qurbaan , that we know 'where' that target is... He's kind of formed-up, and we know exactly who he is now...

Made You Look is the 'fun' horse... Showed talent @ 3 for Todd, moved to the good Turf barn for Chad, Showed all the pieces you want to see and probably beats Oscar Performance in the Poker, had he been 'right'...

a year off and pointed to this meet...

A lot of fun models in that direction of a big win here, but it's 'unproven' ...

Swangin for it with the #2 who should get a DREAM trip inside off the pace & gets first move on the deeper closers.
Has a win on less then firm turf and can grab a slice at nice price.
Keying 2nd & 3rd in tris with a small win bet.

ouch

credit to the winner.

My 'hung' from a nice setup, but was best.

Seemed like nice handling by Junior Alvarado, mid-race was a touch aggressive to inch forward, (i don't know could have even been a 'negative', but he did something, and he happened to be aboard the winner).

Gary Stevens is lamenting that the 2 was loaded and had nowhere to go in the lane.
I STRONGLY disagree. Looked like he wasn't settled the entire trip and simply had nothing. Jock never rode him at any point. His head was cocked early and he seemed to dislike being inside of horses.
Never had a shot imo...lousy pick, finished last

has $20 WPS on Hembree. Thought Mr Havercamp was a tough call. I went from putting him on top in my tri wheel to tossing him completely-thought he would get hung out to dry. Thought Qurbaan was overbet
