couldn't get enough entries to fill the race as carded on Saturday, will try again tomorrow for Sunday.

I think they've run that race with 5 horses or less about 7 times in the past decade.
Shoulda offered an appearance fee for either The Chosen Vron or Rock Your World.
Of course, the latter should have always targeted this race after his disastrous Kentucky Derby. That is unless the plan was to ruin him as quickly as possible.
Then the start in the Belmont Stakes would make sense...

Canceled for lack of interest, just like the rest of the Los Al TB meeting should be?

California racing sucks. They can't fill races on a regular basis.

The one positive I take from the Los Al meet is that the track is so different, you can get good prices by ignoring really bad running lines from there and also chuck some favorites that ran well there out of the blue.

That's quite true.
Indeed, "one track is different from the other tracks on the circuit" has always been a nice handicapping angle. We used to see it with Fairplex here in Southern California, prior to the current situation with Los Al.

100% agree, and the other one that hurts the most is the loss of the downhill 6.5f turf course at SA which led to some AWESOME overlays in turf sprints/routes at HOL and DMR.

What I am about to say is total rumor, so take it for what it is worth, but I have heard that Santa Anita, despite the new backstretch chute and despite the safety concerns, continues to be considering running occasional downhill turf sprints. They would still use the backstretch most of the time, but run a few of them down the hill, if they decide to do this.

The race goes on Sunday.
Race 4......Five horse field.
At least it's part of the P-5.

Two Bobs top two choices on the ML. He also runs Gamine on Monday at Los Al, sure to be another stellar field.

Think I'll go all in the P-5......never thought much of Classier.....hoping Defunded has a bad hair day.
Looks like Flipping Fast is the single in race three.
