And, yet, the sports world is beside-itself outraged because Tebow — one of the greatest college players and ambassadors of all time — is getting another chance because his college coach happens to be coaching his hometown NFL team. Are you kidding me? Is this the alternative universe that we live in today: a world where it’s become cool to root against a player who has never done anything except win games and championships and try his hardest to be the best player, teammate and citizen of the world that he could possibly be?
Yeah, man, let’s root against that guy!!!
Let’s root against a compassionate Christian who helps build hospitals and orphanages in developing nations, who is pouring time and money into his latest initiative of fighting against human trafficking and who has done as much for the disadvantaged and underprivileged than perhaps any athlete we’ve ever known?
Let’s root against the caring man who annually holds “Night to Shine” events at dozens of different sites across the globe where thousands of special-needs teenagers are treated to a prom that includes a red-carpet entrance with paparazzi, limousine rides, hair and makeup beauty stations, shoeshines, dinner and dancing?

Yeah, man, let's root against that guy!!!

There’s another kind?
Tebow isn’t liked in some circles because he wears his religion on his sleeve.

Yeah well, liberals wear it proudly with words and mouth.
I suppose wearing a cross from your neck is a mortal sin also.

Tebow will work his @$$ off to make the team. His biggest detractor is Father time now.

I think the current wave of Tebow hate stems from the fact that he's now going to try to play the position that every coach in America wanted him to play when he came out of college, but he refused....Tight End.
I also wonder how he'll be received in the locker room. Maybe some teammates will resent him for 'waltzing in' because his old buddy Urban just fawns over him.
In short, I don't think he makes the team, and if he does, it will be in a minor role.
I have no animosity for the guy at all. I've previously told the story (on this site somewhere) of him eating at my restaurant on Easter Sunday one year and being as graceful & approachable as he could be. Everyone loved him, ever here in Tiger country. Gators don't usually get that kind of love.
However - he did beat my Steelers in a playoff game, and I'm still pissed about that!

I feel like they will use Tebow as a utility player like Hill on New Orleans
See what happens

I like the idea
He could end up a low level coach or something if he doesn’t make the team
He should be the Jags PR rep

I've said that exact same thing about PA members who get banned and then come back under another name. I do hope the Tebow experiment is positive.

Why do people come back under another name, when it's clear they're just going to get banned again?

Tebow looked to be playing fast in his QB NFL career so hopefully, this can help as a utility player under Urban Meyer's offense

I don’t know about hate……. It’s obvious that some do. But being a realist. Which I am and is not in Vogue or liked these days. This writer points out the question that matters most. Yeah, but is he any f’ing good? That’s all that matters. He’s 33, hasn’t played in 9 years. No other team would even think about it. Some other teams behind closed doors aren’t hating they’re probably laughing. It’s a huge long shot that leaves you wondering if it is a publicity stunt. The Jags will most likely stink again this year. This coach is new to the pros so this could back fire on him too. People lose all sense of reality and go by the person . Being a good person that has religion…… does not make you a good athlete. Even more so in football. Somehow , these days just pointing out the truth is called “ hating on people “ if I had to bet…….. it would be on bust. There are probably veterans in the locker room wondering if this coach is any good. That’s just how it works. Then you got people that turn everything into politics, it’s unbelievable, like either side has anything to do with how good you are football. Like I said, alternative reality.
