Of course, even the Charlatan excuse might be BS (since he was already out before it was revealed he had been turned out with Baffert having been banned by NYRA).

The Sexton Mile drew the Grade 2 win machine By My Standards and top rated sprinter C Z Rocket.
I have it in my head that something is out of whack with Knicks Go.
Can't put my finger on it.....maybe it's just as simple as "why was he even looking at a race @ Lone Star to begin with ?".
Nothing should of shaded him away from the Met Mile from the jump....
I'll be betting against him but good in the Met.

I think Charlatan showed he was a problem in Saudi with the same running style. In the old days, sure, give it another try. But trainers today are looking for easy spots, not to face rivals that dusted them.

I actually heard that from both Dutrow and Mullins amazingly, and if not the same exact year about the same time frame.

What's amazing about Mullins is at some point they either found a way to stop what he was doing, which is doubtful, or he suddenly grew a conscious. His win percentage reflects the stock he has and his horses run to their form.

Yup.
Mullins is now a common trainer.........funny how that works when you're told one more piece of red and you're gone.

...................

re Knicks Go:

when a horse appears like he might now be somewhat questionable because he's coming off a race where he disappointed I do this - of course it's not foolproof but nothing is

I compare his recent workout to the workouts just before when he was running his best

and Knicks Go's workouts are very good - most of them have around a 12 second clocking per furlong and one is under 12 - there's no real difference in his workouts now compared to his workouts much in the past

the big question is does he get an excuse due to the long airplane trip and having to run on a sandy surface which he may not have liked

I give him that excuse - but of course, nobody knows for sure

As suspected.
Either a long vacation or retirement in order for KG now.

I certainly wished I saw this post before playing a fairly large pick three with the and in the following legs..nice call...nothing like seeing two of your three strong opinions winning after you already lost...such is the game we play...

Nice angle Taxicab.

For most of the card, the Brad Cox horses didn't run a step. He was like a deflating balloon.

And, it wasn't like I wasn't seeing other horses and barns getting 110% that day, but Cox was not.

Maybe it was just a small sample size, and some entries (in spite of 'tips' and 'steam' to the contrary) were just off their game.

Letruska deserved to win, but Shedaresthedevil didn't show up. Bonny South ran OK, but was hyped to the moon.

Knicks go didn't show up. There was a bit of inconsistency. Maybe he wasn't just dodging the charlatan? Maybe your angle was right...

Was a little scary that Essential Quality wouldn't run well, but he ran his race.

MG won't be retired this year. The owners sold an interest to myracehorse about a month ago. Retirement would be bad for business
