Not saying that all charters and/or timers are wrong it just would be nice to see at every track even the ones we don't hear much talk about (smaller meets or "bull ring" tracks)

They all have problems at times, but the beam is superior to the others IMO and it isn't really close. Most beam problems are human issues more than the system.

There was a track record at LAD on Wednesday in Race 6, but the races there are hand timed and this one was way off. I've let Equibase know and it will be updated.

SAR R8 - 22July - 1m3/8 on turf
Splits (Trakus): 27.21-54.61-121.95-147.53-224.21
This simply cannot be...these times mean the last 3f took 46.68 seconds
Six furlongs in 121.95 ?
A mile in 147.53 ?

The beam (teletimer) had basically the same thing, so I'd guess those times are correct, or as correct as Trakus gets. Trakus is never perfect. The beam is when it works, and the Trakus times NEVER match exactly.

Equibase removes times that look questionable until verified. I would guess the times on the replay reappear.

Never understand with all their mechanisms, they get TURF times off so often.
Woodbine used to have 5 different setting dependent upon what lane they were running in and still got it wrong a lot

Thxs CJ
From my experience any long turf race is going to be slow early ..
almost crawling....so those times aren't far from the norm..

The chart for race 8 at Saratoga on 7/22 has been updated with fractional and final times. As Craig mentioned, there is a verification process which takes place if any times require review.

Feel Let Down
I just don't get it. How do so many errors happen? I rely on this data to bet real money. How can the providers have so little concern??????? I guess when you're the only show in town, you can treat everyone everyone like stupid saps. This is disgusting.

Ultimately it is up to racetracks to time their races properly. In many cases I don't think many working at the tracks have the expertise to even know when there are problems.

Question:
The Finish line has something that flashes when a horse passes it...right?
Do the other point calls ( polls) have something like that?
