Equibase says a flock of birds tripped the timer for the 1/2 early thus the change in the TuP fractions. I think the new posted times are too slow, almost assuredly faster than 44 for the 1/2 (I haven't checked the 5f call). I'm not sure how the birds would affect the 5f call either, but at this point I'll just use what I think is the best estimate and move on.

I think you and RXB are a whole lot closer to reality.

My vote is for the teletimer fractions because I handtimed a few other 6f races in addition to the Gold Cup and I believe strongly that the teletimer is basically correct throughout that race. Equibase is flat out wrong on this one.

I was being nice
To be fair, Equibase is the reporter. The timing company provided the information.

Reporters, yes, but they are SELLING those reports.
No need to be fair.

Not sure what happened, but no fractions for Gulfstream race 4 yesterday.

There is nothing in the Trakus charts. The 1:23.54 final time reported in Equibase is almost exactly what I got on both occasions when I handtimed from the gate, and that doesn't account for the 30-foot runup. So something right around 1:22.00 is more accurate for a final time with the runup factored into the equation.

Thanks! I'm trying too save this kind of work for slow days like Monday or Tuesday. I'll call them timer reconciliation days.

And yet another timing problem at Gulfstream today---no times yet from Trakus for Race 8. Some "championship meet" they run there.

Only in horse racing could tech problems be getting worse instead of better in 2016.

And yet another screw up in the finale at Gulfstream today. Even the track announcer, Larry Collmus, noted the fractions were obviously wrong.

Please elaborate on those "tech problems" that some of us who are technically deficient might not understand.
However if they are so complex or complicated to explain I will understand your lack of wanting to explain.

Penn National had a race with no times given yesterday, 2-24. It was the 2nd race. This is always great for horseplayers.
