Turf Question ?

Any big advantage running on a Widener Turf at 7 Furlongs than just a regular 7 furlong Turf Race ... In the racing form is the Widener Turf the Boxed Letter T or the round circle T .... Thanks again all for any help ...

The circle T is the main turf course and the boxed T is the inner turf. The Widener Turf is the main turf. Tracks with one turf course have a circle T for all turf events.

The inner turf will have sharper turns and may favor speed horses.

Belmont has a main turf and an inner turf in addition to the dirt course.

In a couple of years, there will be an All Weather too. Making Belmont Park the most versatile track in the world.

Are you kind of new to horseracing? (not sarcastic, just wondering)

They've had two turf courses for a very long time.
Both courses can't run all the different distances.
The 6 and 7 furlong races are a pretty recent development with the proliferation of sprint turf racing.

Thanks brotha !! I was just wondering if there was more of an advantage from one course to the other ? Any idea ? Much appreciated ...

Ask questions is the only way we learn , no matter how foolish it looks to people ... care less ...

Peace
