That's a shame. This tweet, from what I understand, was posted under Vic's personal Twitter account. It's infantile to fire someone because of a tweet like that on a personal account.
That being said, in the early days of social media I warned both of my sons to be very careful about what they post on social media because it could come back to bite you in the ass and cost you your job, and that was before the Cancel Culture kicked in.
Vic is a talented guy, wish him the best.

Take heart, Vic.
My dad was his own boss, but I've only experienced working for others.
I can say that, having been experienced as a company cast off, that your boss does not determine your destiny. Your tool set and ability to market that tool set to a prospective boss, determines your destiny. And that, my friend, did not change with Oaklawn's decision. A high percent of cast offs end up with even better gigs and better fits in new positions. Patience and persistence is all you need.

I will join all that are wishing Vic nothing but the best. Suggestion Vic, opening day of the next Oaklawn season. Purchase a box for the season, take your excellent game for a full attack at the windows. And as you enter your box with all of your handicapping tools, pull out a box of Kleenex with "VIC'S DO NOT TOUCH" written in bold lettering and display it prominently.

The good that comes out of this is all the love thrown Vics way. I'm sure there are the few who gloat, but the overwhelming majority are for you, Vic.
