Could be they don't want to spend the extra time hunting things down. They found a couple cases of strawberry and maybe that was the most common flavor requested so they called it good for now. As a small business owner who is now an army of one nothing is more annoying than searching high and low for a supply that used to be a mouse click away.

Cheapest gas prices I remember were $.21 for regular $.23 for ethyl. A kid in the mid 60's in elementary school. You could also get a free drinking glass with a fill up. Now a fill up is over $100 and you don't get anything.

$5.01/gal for gas last night on the thruway. We were driving past a truck stop and as we were looking at the sign, diesel went from $5.99 to $6.25.

Something very strange we noticed was that all the 18 wheelers were driving much slower than usual. Then I realized that they are probably driving slower to save fuel since it has doubled in the last year or so.

Interesting, maybe Mr Horseplayer can comment on that. Just from what I have heard weight hauled and speed don't effect a diesel at the same rate as a vehicle on gasoline. Also I would think conserving fuel vs time would depend on how you are getting paid. It would be interesting to know the different types of payment these days and what is the most common.

I have had things hauled before, some LTL, some full load. The most unique one was time + mileage, with one hour load and unload time included. Any loading or waiting over an hour was so much an hour more. That would encourage slow driving and finding traffic or taking the scenic tour.

The two cross country ones I was just quoted a set price, with two hours total loading and wait time included.

A few others $X.XX per mile + loading and wait time.

Another thing I saw was an 18 wheeler drafting another incredibly close, about a car length apart.

They did a test on that on Mythbusters, but it was a car tailgating a big rig, it was nuts how high the mileage went up. If my memory serves me right it was over 50% increase.

Same place today 5 days later $4.89.

No Worries:

The Biden administration announced actions this week that could triple solar manufacturing by 2024. NPR's Cheryl W. Thompson speaks with U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm about the plan.

This was released yesterday as gas prices hit a $5 average per gallon.

WTF is wrong with these people?

They are true believers. They were indoctrinated to believe that things like solar energy are holy and things like gasoline are the work of the devil. They believe that we just have to accept the consequences of that.
