The average global temperature reached 17.01C (62.62F), surpassing the August 2016 record of 16.92C (62.46F), as heatwaves sizzled around the world.

It is all hype that people like you keep falling for. The liberal media constantly lies about "record temperatures" and you eat it like spoon fed shit. During the last BS claims of record high temperatures in Phoenix and Las Vegas during the current heat wave doing research both Phoenix and Las Vegas were 6 degrees short. They claimed 116 in LV was a record and 112 in Phoenix also was, utter lies the records are 122 and 118.

My comments are directed at the OP. Not Jimmy.

History will tell you we didn't start recording earth's temperatures accurately and with enough data points until about 1880-1890.

Funny enough, based on scientific discoveries since then (via ice core samples, etc), it was determined the earth took a giant U-TURN in terms of warming around 1900....AFTER 5,000 YEARS OF COOLING

https://arstechnica.com/science/2013...ar-chill-down/

This is scientific FACT.

So really...you could say...since the industrial revolution started to get into swing around the same time...that fossil fuels helped us AVOID A MASSIVE ICE AGE...

Thank you fossil fuels!

Or, looking at it another way, one could argue we didn't actually start recording temperatures until coincidentally, the earth naturally stopped COOLING and started a warming cycle.

5,000 YEARS OF COOLING...until the year 1900...scientific FACT

please feel free to ignore it

Climate change is a term used as a political tool. The earth has gone through far worse and survived, with and without humans.
Why can't you people move on to something useful, like clean water, safe food, or garbage removal?

OMG, the hottest in the history of the US National Centers for Environmental Prediction?

Is that worldwide, or just the data collection sites corrupted by their locations?

Come on man! Are you telling me you don't believe someone can analyze dirt
and know exactly what the temperature was at high noon in what is now Death Valley, Ca. on January 25th, in the year 945 B.C.?

I just love scientific claims that are impossible to prove wrong.

last week I looked up the temperature for Las Vegas. the number came back 85 degrees. having lived in Vegas a long time ago knowing the temps got into the hundreds I thought it was a climate change. lo and behold I learned something new, I was looking at the temperature for Las Vegas, New Mexico, a place up until last week I never knew existed!

Did yesterday also set a record for percentage of the Earth's surface that has been paved over? I am sure none of you climate alarmist ever notice that once you leave the asphalt jungle and hit the open road temperatures drop.

So you are disputing the official temperature? Please show a picture of the thermometer, in the shade and it's calibration records. Is there a liberal here that does not constantly make weak arguments?

Twenty years ago for the same time of year 112 to 115 degrees was normal for Phoenix, AZ. You chose this place as your resting spot instead of cooler Canada or any place cold. Your choice was because of your shoestring money available to you.

Unless you are on house arrest, wouldn't you want to end the suffering by moving?

So what?
You think this means anything?

It doesn't.

It was 77 here that day.

Try to make sense.
