seems like "exact contours" is the phrase that is meat of the problem for both sides in the NJ sports betting case.
http://sports-law.blogspot.com/2015/...nj-sports.html
also answers the questions about the US DOJ friend of the court filing
about Judge Shipp's erring in part of his opinion.

NJ gets its last argument in before the court date of March 17th.

good move by the state to include former racetracks (privately owned and having basically nothing to do with the state) in the repeal.
AC and Garden state are also allowed to handle sports betting beside casinos and active racetracks.
Seeya on St Patricks day.

It however looks bad for the sports leagues, and obamacare will survive the 2nd SCOTUS and remain the law of the land.
The judges will rule 3-0 in favor of jersey and reverse shipp, do away with the injuction against sports betting at racetracks, old racetrack sites, and casinos.

My first take on this: sports leagues realized their fantasy sports alliances with partners like Draft Kings et al would give substance to NJ's "unclean hands" argument. So they did what they could to stall this process while they worked behind the scenes with those partners to get software in place to capitalize on full sports betting once it went legal.
Other thoughts?

Guess you can't regulate something and not regulate it at the same time.
Makes me wonder if they were truly serious in the first place.

Everyone involved is caught up in the verbiage ,how is. It not allowed
While daily fantasy sports. WAGERING is rampant and you only have to try that out to understand it is truly gambling in the first order...
It's just so silly when states are in dire need of revenues
