as we look at the futures pointing up this morning, it looks to me like its going to head to another brutal day down at the casino on wall street.

on a fundamental basis i am trying to compare this rout to the great depression. the main difference that i see is that back in 1929 cash had a value to purchase things, while the equities were going to hell. today both currency and companies are going down for the count at the same time. my guess at the end of this mess is the company's that will remain standing with have more value that paper currency.

the thing that really worries me is state, local and federal governments have commitments to retiree/s to pay them back their pensions and social security and they won't have the money to pay them. so they are going to print it up at a lesser and lesser value.

gold sold off big yesterday, but don't mistake that with stocks free falling. gold will buy you things you need going forward while cash will be utter trash.

our streets are going to look like jungles coming right at you.

With sporting events, concerts, and every other gathering falling by the way side ....a lot of businesses are going to hurt or fall too

What a shit show this is going to be...

P.S.- Speaking about shit...whats with all the toilet paper being bought up...

Yeah, S&P futures started rallying off their lows almost exactly at midnight....went up an impressive 200 points until locked...

Sad thing is, that only puts us within 60 points of yesterday's regular session high...

Here's the close on Friday...

DOW
23,185.62
1,985.00 (9.36%)
NASDAQ
7,874.88
673.07 (9.35%)
S&P 500
2,711.02
230.38 (9.29%)

So the Markets were only a little down, for the week, from the Massacre Monday..

The DOW lost -666
The NASDAQ lost -76
The S&P lost -35

Next week will be the true barometer of where the Corona nonsense will take us.....IMO, I think the DOW will fall under 20,000 if the virus escalates, and then we'll see real panic. It's all about the containment of the virus, as the Media talks about nothing else.
