It's HOT!!
Weather Underground told me our high today was going to be 93 degrees. They lied. It is 100 degrees with an index of 115.
In my driveway, which is asphalt.. I swear, I could fry eggs for dinner. My irrigation comes on auto. at 6 a.m for 2 hours. I've run it manually today for the birds two more times. And they're still splashing in the bird baths trying to cool off. Poor babies, they can perish easily in this heat. (I've buried them before).
Gentlemen, this isn't good for man nor beast.

It's summer young lady. The poor babies adjust, just as they do in winter when it's 15 below. Just be careful yourself and stay hydrated.

Its never, or only one summer that I can recall, been this hot in Saratoga, at least not for consecutive days. So rare that racing days have ever been cancelled due to heat.
SMike, I may change my Saratoga reservations, and leave a month early, if this keeps up!!
Marshall, I went to the grocery store...thought I'd die before I got home! I put the AC in the car down as cold as I could get it. My sunglasses fogged up when I got out of the car!
When I woke up this morning, I got a steak out for dinner. Back in the freezer at 10 a.m. I ain't standing over the grill in 100 degree heat. I ain't cooking nothing. I'm going out.

Johnny Carson wiping his brow saying man it was hot today. Ed McMahon asks of course how hot was it Johnny? Well Ed it was so hot outside I saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walking. Love that line.

It was so hot, I saw two trees fight over a dog.
It was so hot, Mitt Romney seemed cool.
It was so hot, they installed an fan in the debt ceiling.
It was so hot, cows were giving evaporated milk.
It was so hot, the chickens were laying hard boiled eggs.
It was so hot, I went fishing and caught a fish fry.
It was so hot, Mike Bloomberg was seen drinking a Big Gulp.
It was so hot, it was 95 and hazy, kind of like Bernie Sanders.

Thought I'd bump this one back up before the weekend. It's going to be brutal here in the heartland for a few days. Some racing cancellations wouldn't be inappropriate, seems to me.

It was 100 and humid today in East Texas. Next month is when we really start cooking.
I've got a mule that absolutely won't leave me alone until I hose her down for a full 5 minutes every afternoon. Sometimes I automate the deal by setting out one of those whirly sprinklers...she'll stand over it for as long as I leave the water on.
