How do you get free seats?

Probably win some kind of preliminary or qualifying contest.This is common in poker tournaments.

No free seat was given. His seat and 149 other seats were give seats due to the fact they were in the top 150 at the end of this years NHC Tour standings. You had to earn it by virtue of playing and scoring in contests on the NHC Tour.

John O'Neil must have an original BMS, since the "green dongle" was replaced in 2001. Do you agree?

How could it be replaced in 2001 when the program came out in 2008?

The dongle is still in use - it has not been replaced. A user of black magic finished 1st, 22 and 57th (at least those are the ones I know about). Of course it's possible they also used other sources of information.
