Benefits of RTN of ADW video

I'm thinking about subscribing to RTN to test it out. For those of you who use it, what are the benefits of watching races on RTN vs using your ADW?

I currently use AmWager, which allows me to load multiple tracks side by side. It also doesn't seem like there's much of a delay between the video and when betting is shut.

If I do get it, it'll be used through something like Fire TV or Roku, so for those who do the same I'd be curious about the experience.

I have it through roku. My main tv is a 65 inch samsung qled and the picture is ridiculous . Outside that the feed isn't much faster than my adw feed. The best part for me is entering a name and instantly pulling up every replay for that horse in seconds. The cost is pretty cheap and if you hate it then you can cancel anytime. Overall , It is thumbs up for me.

You're going to have to specify if this means good or bad

Do all the replays come in the more expensive package only?

RTN is very nice. I will have multiple tracks up and just toggle back and forth on my PC. I cant set up an ADW in my jurisdiction so can't respond to that

I have the thoroughbred package for $15 and get all the replays.

As for advantages, it is the ease of use of for me over my ADW that sold me. I like being able to stream it direct to my TV without having to use my computer. I can do that with a browser with Firestick, but the navigation sucks and the picture isn't as good. I like having the video on the TV because I'm already using my computer to navigate PPs and the ADW site at a minimum.

The web based version of RTN is identical to what is given to any ADW so the experience should be the same. RTN is easier to work with since its strictly live video and replays so its fairly easy to maneuver.

The Roku app is nice as well if you don't have an Apple TV or Chromecast to mirror your computer up to your TV but the delay in comparison to the website is anywhere from 45 seconds or worse. So if you're someone who bets close to off time you have to adjust accordingly.

Nice.....going to check that out

Btw, anybody who is thinking of a Roku, I just bought a new one and it’s awesome compared to my last experience several years ago. Somehow I got an invite (Roku selling info?) to install “private channels” with a free offer via email. You can guess what private channels are....

The new Apple 4k TV is the serious 4K beast though. 4k stuff looks awesome on it. Even better than streaming direct to my TV. Going thru Apple TV first seems to improve it somehow.

I have RTN. Just 15 bucks per month for all the live thoroughbred racing and unlimited replays, it is an absolute bargain! Flash and HTML5 options. The platform and feeds seem super-sturdy too and I never have any interruptions. Runs only 2-3 secs behind live also.

Another question to those as I'm at a complete loss here in regards to Chromecast. With no rhyme or reason, sometimes the Cast icon appears on a feed, and sometimes not. RTN constantly says no we don't support CC . Only roku and firestick. Even when I send them a screenshot of the icon along with it streaming on my TV via CC.

So do others see the CC icon when streaming ? Running on Android tablet with FF 68. The in browser CC isn't particularly stable running Chrome browser.

Ralph,

Since you are in the Houston area how is this working? Amwager told me RTN was blocking the free feed into Texas so I can’t use that. Going to try the free trial RTN sent me to see if I can pick up the feed. They tell me the problem was not on my end with the free feed. We will see. I have no issue paying the subscription as long as I can verify it works and can be cast to my tv. I just read above there is a chromecast issue but I have Roku and the Apple av lightening adaptor. So hopefully this will work.

The free feed is blocked. I tried to use it and it only worked for a day. Then I contacted RTN who told me they would get back to me......... guess what? They didn't........I'm guessing they care very little about Texas. I was told that I should be able to get it, by RTN, but they didn't get back to me. They swore no restrictions to Texas but it won't load for me. It gives a few different error messages.

They didn't charge me..... thank goodness
