New pps

Optixgrid will be the new pps in the market available 12/14

Anyone have any idea..??

Imo TimeformUS is clearly the best pps available.

Interesting. We'll be seeing many more PP vendors in the future. Anyone with a handicapping app could transform their output to PPs. Didn't find their home page.

How is it possible that someone is releasing a new PP product in less than a week and their is no website or Google search beyond Twitter (and here)?

There is no need for another equibase data PPs. But there may be market for PPs based on Trakus.

Agree. What's needed more is another source of raw data.

This is slightly off the topic, but is there a way to see a sample/preview of the much-lauded Timeform US past performances without having to sign up as a "free member"?

Not my preference to have to create an account just to see what the product looks like. Even an outdated file would be fine.

Agreed about the Trakus info. Not sure what can develop there but instead of having a note say, "wide both turns, bumped in stretch" without any quantification, it would be nice to know how much distance it cost the horse. Losing by a length and having traveled 40 or more feet kinda puts a different light on such a past performance. Also, being able to see velocity differentials at the various calls, might help define what "blocked, steadied" really means in terms of distance.

I am sure there is a lot more that can be developed from their info. Here's hoping that Equibase and Trakus get together, combine data and actually help the handicapper come to better decisions.

Actually, the person involved with this was interviewed in the last issue of Horseplayers Monthly.

No, there really isn't. Believe it or not we aren't allowed to give away PPs without a sign up due to Equibase rules, and neither is any one else allegedly. I can't verify if others do it or not.

Only if they are willing to license data from Equibase, which is FAR from cheap.

I'm NOT an employee, partner, or anything of the sort. I am very familiar with their products though.

I've been a beta user for maybe 6 months or so, know the people involved personally, and can answer questions if you have them. The website isn't even up till the 14th though, so pretty hard to get too deep into it till then.

I use Jcapper, TimeFormUS PP's, and the Optix products in my handicapping. Each serves a unique part of how I handicap, and I don't plan on doing away with any 1 for the other. To me, they're complimentary.

The part shown in the tweet is called Notes.

The PP's(called Grid) show the same information as everyone else, plus proprietary information which they can explain much better than I. The format is easy to use, sort, and filter.

Notes, is the part I was able to pick up the quickest, and it added the most value right away. Basically you have just a few people making trip notes, in a standardized manner, using keywords, at the major circuits. It's especially helpful for contests when a track I don't follow(Churchill) is included.

Plot is a visual representation of the pace. There's a lot more to it than that, but that's the basic gist.
