$.10 Takes Down the Whole SF Pool
In the 7th at GP yesterday, a single dime took down the entire superfecta pool. The winning combination "paid" over a million bucks for a buck ($1,190, 694.10 to be exact) :
$119,069.41 6-10-5-4
Guess the sheets missed again. I could have had it using my old address, 654 Metropolitan Ave., where we lived for 10 years.

Just curious, what do the "the sheets" have to do with anything?

Would you have keyed the 10 in all positions?

Nothing and no. Just pointing out that some races are chaos races, and designed for "hatpin" or "phone no." selectors. A lot of those at GP this season; only wish I knew beforehand which ones.

It's a beautiful thing
Gives the small player a better chance.
Truth is, though, the winning ticket probably had $500< of dime combos.
More power to him!

Never thought about that possibility, horsesforcourses. Would be interesting to find out what the total investment was. It's also possible, I suppose, that someone hit the "quick pick" button, and got lucky.
This is a crazy game, all right. I noticed there were two second time starters (my specialty) in the 6th race at Tampa. I bet the 2/1 getting FTL. Should have bet the 52/1 dropping out of a MdSpWt at GP. I never learn!

Did someone actually hit the $1 payoff or did they just display it that way? Or was the .10 variety only hit?

Only 1 ten cent ticket was sold.
They should have posted the 2 dollar price, which would have been 2.3 million or something like that.

The thread title says it all; they just displayed it that way.
There was exactly one thin dime on the winning combination, taking down the entire net pool

Makes as much sense, I suppose, to post the 2 dollar "theoretical" price as the 1 dollar "theoretical" price.
GP, however, posts their tris and supers for $1, and their doubles and exactas for $2 as their standard, so I'm sure they wouldn't want to add to the confusion (although it might be good publicity).

Guys we're 'flying' right past the real crux of this matter.
There was only $119,069 and change to distribute after take-out(I make take-out at 26.6 percent is that correct?
Anyway....here the b.buster....if you wanted to bet $1.00 or larger multiples you could do so!...this means that.....wait for it....
lets say f'rinstance you structure your bet in the 10 cent amt. and bet a total of 500.00 and hit this one.
or, you were structured at the $1.00 level instead, which would make your wager cost 50 grand!
and, further, that you were the only winning ticket holder...
now what?
not only have you lost the 'vig'...(amount deducted as takeout) which is 42,955 big ones, you have also cost yourself an UNNECCESSARY 45,500 by choosing the larger betting unit!.....wow...... collecting now, only 69,069 so.......
(alluding to another thread on PA)....whadya tip the teller?

Nada! For that kind of payout, you would get a check.
