Analyzing the Triple Crown

Using Stan Caris’ book I came up with the following:

First, going over the final fractions of the Qualifying horses, I found that Angel of Empire has the best final fractions. (12.12, 24.35, 36.55). Caris, with the exception of Rich Strike, is right there with horses coming out a Big 5 Prep race winning the Derby. However, Rich Strike was a RAN horse, so according to him, the Raise a Native sire line rules. Indeed it does. Moving on from there the RAN horses are:
Confidence Game
Hit Show
Reincarnate
Mage
Disarm
Jace’s Road
Angel of Empire
Lord Miles

I was never able to figure out what family a horse comes from, so I have not counted that. If anyone can help there, I’d appreciate it. The following horses scored on Stan’s rules:

Forte-12
Mage-10
Angel of Empire-9
Practical Move-7
Verifying-4
Tapit Trice-4
Skinner-4

Until things change, I’m sticking with Stan’s system.

Perhaps the quickest way to locate the female family is to go to pedigree query and simply type in the the name. The family will appear next to the year born. In the case of Forte, he's a 1-x which gives bonus points.

After double checking the entries, I have some changes. I calculated the wrong final fractions for Mage. He does not qualify on Rule 1. The addition of 23-King Russell is interesting. He qualifies on Rule 1. Here are the revisions:

Forte-14
Angel of Empire-9
:23: King Russell-5
Tapit Trice-4
Verifying-4

Final fractions
37.88, 25.34, 12.86
36.55, 24.35, 12.12
:23: 37.18, 24.59, 12.17
37.34, 24.63, 12.36
37.48, 24.82, 12.45

Hope this helps

King Russell is also a Buckpasser-x in tail female. That's three bonus points. I'd be more excited about him if there weren't 10 other horses with roughly the same figures and style. You will get paid if he hits.

Yes, I awarded him the points for that. He’s got the fractions to do it. Fingers crossed.
