In my opinion....
Any horse debuting and has promise isn't going to start their career at Laurel

I couldn't remember if Xtra Heat won at Pimlico or Laurel first out. Looking on youtube I did find Barbaro's debut at Delaware.

Of course, but just dismissing a horse because it debuted at a lesser track is dangerous. Too Much Bling came from Ohio. Forest Music had a heckova debut at Laurel.

Barbaro was 7:1 in that video.
Your point?
Script is a future claimer. No sane person expects him to turn out to be anything other than that.

Nothing important Little....its that OPoster thought this horse has a big future...
With Speed Figures like he got ....doesn't point to that
I'll probably eat my words somewhere down the line....
FWIW ....7-1 odds is a decent way to start a good career , its what I think
a middle between well known firster and "I doubt he is anything special"
Mike

Or at Saratoga - at least if they want to win the Derby. (Saw something recently that the last horse to break its maiden at Saratoga and win the Derby was Riva Ridge!!)

Isn't this the kind of stuff that horse racing is all about, opinions? We'll see if the horse is any good soon enough and it will be fun to revisit no matter which of you is right. I don't think anyone needs to make it personal. This is what bettors do.

That was the last male horse to do it. Winning Colors broke her maiden at Saratoga.

But this is essentially what happens on message boards when someone posts an opinion with no real substance. Because they have nothing concrete to back up their opinion, they take personal shots at the person that displays the weakness of their argument. We have seen it more than a few times here.
I took his post for what it was...waving a white flag.
