Right on Taxicab!
I'm also a huge fan of Steely Dan...
Glamour Profession and Kid Charlemagne also referenced drug use.
Even like Fagen's solo stuff, like I.G.Y.

First artist to record a Becker/Fagan song?
If you said Barbra Streisand go to the head of the class.
That's right, Babs.Like buttah
.It does sound like ,in tone anyway, some of their slower, early songs like"Brooklyn" or "Any World That I'm Welcome To"
From her 1971 album Barbra Joan Streisand. This was a year before Steely Dan's debut LP.

Correct Phantom.
You bring up Kid Charlemagne, all three times I saw them live they did KC......each time it was the song that the audience took to the most.
One time Fagen lost track, and forgot where he was at in the song.
I forgot one of their most notorious drug songs.........King of the World.
And Glamour Profession.......correct,another drug song..........but the lyrics were hauntingly ahead of their time...........they kind of called the whole Magic Johnson timeline........uncanny.
BTW: we have a "Hoops McCann" on this board.

Really good knowledge 44......they cut their teeth as song writers.
And the Brooklyn/Any World pull is spot on........always liked both those songs quite a bit.

OK, this isn't the best song ever, but does this girl KILL it on guitar? Priest themselves would be proud. And she's easy on the eyes.

I love this musical score from the movie. Take the 5 minutes and listen to the emotion you can provoke from such a simple song.
