I can't remember - does the state own all the NYRA track real estate with NYRA having them on a lease, or is it just Aqueduct that the state owns/leases back?

NYRA and New York State government agreed in February 2008 to extend NYRA rights to operating racing at Aqueduct, Belmont, and Saratoga until 2033.

NYRA conceded the title of the three racetracks to the state in the agreement with New York state government. So yes New York state government owns the tracks.

I enjoyed an afternoon this fall at Aqueduct when temps were in low 70's.
First time I went out there since they had calendar give out on New Years Day probably around 2010.

The grandstand and second floors are not updated. Sitting out in the grandstand seats and watching the races was a great time. I understand the logic of eliminating Aqueduct and turning Belmont Park into Parx North. I am against New York state government plans for the Aqueduct property. An expanded casino, a few hotels , a shopping mall, etc.

We have a few more years of Aqueduct before it closes for racing.
