Why does Lindsey Graham still support Trump?

I find this perplexing.

I would have thought that there has been enough fracture of support for Trump in the Republican party to allow Graham to slink away from Trump quietly...but no...he plans to be there to help Trump kick off his campaigning in South Carolina this week.

Still trying to figure out why....

Better question, why does Trump still associate with Lindsey Graham? He is a RINO that cannot be trusted, Trump doesn't need him.

Politics is a complicated game.

Graham might as well support Trump unless it's clear he can't win.

DeSantis hasn't even decided if he's running yet. Unless DeSantis enters, I see Trump running away with the GOP nomination.

Because Trump has the most R support, and Graham could get a cushy job on the cabinet?

How do any campaign workers decide which candidate to work for?

It's just weird that a politician like Graham hasn't quite grasped the fact that Trump has zero shot at winning in 2024, and most likely won't even win the Republican nomination if DeSantis runs.

I thought he was a little more savvy then that...

If they don't get DeSantis to run, then they are conceding the 2024 election already.

It would be smart for DeSantis not to run in 2024 just to avoid the shitstorm that would be a Trump vs. DeSantis primary battle. Then the Democrats would win by default if Trump were the nominee.

And then after 4 more years of Democrats in the White House....

It would make it 1000x easier for DeSantis to win in 2028.

And I thought you were a little more smarter than all that.

DeSantis has NO SHOT against Trump and only if Trump drops dead and truly cannot run, that's the only way DeSantis jumps to head of the class.

But wait, even if that happens, then the GOP establishment will rally against him, too, maybe not as virulent as they went against Trump, but the GOP establishment simply will not support a populist.

Now since you're a numbers guy, this poll was conducted 5 days ago. Trump has a huge lead over DeSantis and he also leads over all of those polled combined!

if he has zero chance, would you give me 10,000/1 on a dollar?

even though the demon rats have the battleground states rigged with their mail-in ballot collections in large cities, who will they have? If Biden makes it through all of the troubles he is in, he won't beat Trump again.

Newsome, O'Rouke, Witmer, Ocasio-Cortez, Abrahms ??

Trump should have quit on top and not ran in 2020, he has fractured the party.

zero shot?

you're in dreamland

That poll you cite is the first poll I've seen that puts Trump ahead by a significant margin...all other polls prior had DeSantis ahead or not very far behind.

So the poll you cite is probably an outlier and one of those "highly accurate" media polls we've all seen in recent years that gets it completely wrong (in the end) "by accident"

I have every reason to believe that polls will attempt to put Trump on top of Republicans...that's WHAT THEY WANT...reality is a different story, as has proven the case time and time again when it comes to "polls" over the last 5-10 years

the bookmakers in Great Britain got Desantis favored over everyone including Biden now.

however betting on future elections at this point is like making future wagers on the Kentucky Derby. if your guy doesn't run, your money is gone with the hypothetical candidate. at the moment they are giving 5/2 on Desantis, that is pretty strong for someone that hasn't even announced. for Trump you can get 5-1 and he has announced.

Nothing matters right now, less moves means less money spent. Zero is moving in the process, when it does everything changes leaving all posts previous worthless. Why don't you try to advance your personal favorite Elizabeth Lynne Cheney?

Trump did not fracture the Republican Party, he exposed them.
