At some point there is going to be a straw, like the hundreds of billions of dollars to forgive student loans, that breaks the camel's back. Imagine if the "climate change" alarmists were even a little bit concerned about the collapse of our economy which will be much more sudden and catastrophic than any changes in our climate. And it's ironic that the herculean efforts to curb CO2 (plant food) to "save our planet" are contributing to the demise of our economy.

There isn't a federal bank of student loans. When DOE issues the funds they are borrowing from Treasury.
The debt is then issued and if it's serviced that is done primarily by the taxpayer.
You are also correct in that the ONLY way this forgiveness actually impacts you is that out of the 30+ trillion debt the United States has racked up... $300B of that will be student loan forgiveness.
So in a nutshell... it doesn't impact anyone really except the people that had student loans.
Four years ago we passed a massive tax cut (mostly only for businesses) and cranked our deficit spending up at $1T/yr and nary a peep around here about that.
This time around though we have what basically amounts to a lender credit aimed directly at the middle class... and people are losing their shit.
Really seems like dirty pool.

Since the loans were made by the Department of Education, they don’t need to be paid back to private entities such as banks or Savings & Loans. Quite the opposite of harming the middle class, this program helps the middle class, which is where most of the students debt is held. Finally, the Trump tax cuts increased the National debt 13 times as much as forgiving student debt.
Am I at least somewhat accurate in what I said?
ETA: why wasn’t the Biden Administration as good at explaining this as you?

This total nonsense.
Allowing certain groups to not payback loans while other groups get no benefit is unequal representation. There is NO good reason to forgive lstudent loans period.
Those who already acted responsibly and honored their word by paying back loans are screwed over. What about those who did not go to college but instead invested money in opening their own businesses and incurred just as much or more debt, why are they excluded? Those payments are just as much burdensome.
People making $125K or couples making $250K DO NOT NEED NOR DESERVE ANY STUDENT LOAN RELIEF.
To answer you question, mostie, there are two reasons why the Biden administration can't expain it.
1. EVERYONE in the administration is a MORON
2. There is nothing truthful to say about it other than it is 100% political favoritism.
