Santa Anita mandatory payout
This is a real tough one. I likely will not play it. This is what I came up with
4) 1-2-7
5) 3-4-6
6) 2-3-4-7-8-9-10
7) 2-3-5-6
8) 1-3-4-5-10-11(did not look at the also eligible horse)
9) 1-2-3-5-6-9-10
That is like a $2100 play. Way out of my bankroll. Also is very consistent with the morning line. No insight here.
If I was to single anyone it would be the 5th race #3. I just have a hard time with a horse (even at 5 years old) winning 4 of 5 races for 119 k and be let go for 40. Seems a little suspect. 4th race #1 will get a lot of attention in the single department. poor race when overmatched in last. Biggest concern is the cut back to 6 furlongs. Singling 2 vulnerable low odds horse doesn't seem like a really smart play so I will not go there. Can't really come up with any A choices in the turf races so it just looks unplayable to me. Interesting horse to me was race 8 #1. Had a lot of trouble in last and could have been much closer with clear sailing. Race 9 #6 destroyed with stumble at break, so toss last. Race does seem a little heavy in deep closers that will help his cause. I would like him a lot if 12 wasn't in race and I was confident he could get a comfortable lead.
Good luck if you are playing. IF the first two favorites don't both win, this can pay decent. If they both lose this can pay nice.
