Per DRF classic pps for Dream Adrianna (GP 9th race 8/6/22) and official chart

23-2 46-1 1:11-2 1:38-2 (no notation that this is hand timed)

The internal splits are almost exactly the same. Wondering if the initial 1/4 mile split could be confirmed one way or another. Thank you.

The times which appear in the Equibase chart and in PP lines for this race are are correct at 23.43 46.21 1:11.59 1:24.70 1:38.51

DRF (through CJ) and Equibase work together to QC (via video) races and insure times are as accurate as possible. After that process is complete and in the event times are updated, the times displayed in PPs and in charts may differ from the times on video race replay. This was one of those races.

Santa Anita R10. That 24.80 1st quarter does not look right.

It is likely correct. What isn't correct is the run up I'd guess, it is less than 10 feet as opposed to the listed 20.

Just in case this wasn't obvious (sorry if it was) this was 6.5F on the flat and not downhill, so even at a 10 or 20 feet run-up they are running pretty slowly at the start as compared to down the hill.

I backed into it using the gmax info found on NYRA's trakus page.
https://www.nyra.com/aqueduct/racing/trakus

to be honest, the numbers shown during the race actually look correct but for whatever reason they didn't show the first digit.

I timed it from video, confident all these times are within a tenth of a second:

23.49, 47.71, 1:12.74, 1:25.90

Who knows if they will show up in the chart, apparently it is up to the NYSGC steward in New York that somehow thinks he is a timing expert.

Until Michael brought it to my attention, I was unaware of this GMAX timing.
Once I heard Trakus was gone I never bothered hitting the tab at the NYRA site.

Looks very thorough. I'm going to tool around with it this evening.
Your thoughts on GMAX...? If you don't mind

It has benefits for sure, but the timing isn't good enough for my purposes. Most of the GMAX tracks are using some sort of beam timing as the official timing now for this reason. I would never trust straight GPS timing.

Florida Derby has a big timing error, tentatively in collaboration with Randy Moss I'd say 1:49.40 is very close. Official time currently is 1:48.51.

Changed to 1:49.37. Personally I think something tripped the beam early near the finish. The fractions all appear to be good.

If anyone is aware of a head-on view of the stretch run please let Craig or I know. We searched for one and could not find it, although it still might not help to show what might have tripped the beam if it the image wasn't wide enough to show the finish line/timing eye on the outside (track side).
