Attacking Turfway.

I was interested in everybody's thoughts about how to bet on a track with 12 horse fields in every race. More than likely to pick fives will carry every other night. So plan one is to wait till they have a pick 5 carryover. But if you're biting at 12 horse field of races for the horses form can change dramatically. Is this a good exact event maybe or is it a good pick 3 bet and you throw the chalk out in the first leg automatically. I also thought maybe I would make an online for every horse in the race and then look to see who is extremely overlaid. Then start my exactus from there because it's just so unpickable that race track. Anybody have any ideals. Playing with a larger bankroll there should be a way to play this to take advantage of the small bankroll players. You want to have the combinations that they can't get to because of the field size. I'm thinking maybe also the 10 cent super with the long shots in the first leg. The last meat so often the one position would win races at 20 to 1. So I'm just going to automatically use those now

Loved playing Turfway back in the 90's but have not looked at it since the installation of the synthetic course.

Tough track to beat from a payout perspective on just about any type of wager.

https://www.horseracingnation.com/ne...or_Payouts_123

Obviously with higher payouts, more horses running, and solid pools for a supposed 'B' track, it is difficult to cash a lot of tickets.

I'll play W/P and EX on a good number of races, and some P3s. Have some close friends that we'll pool together on P4s and P5s. P5s are obviously tough to hit.

With that said, I could see some going in with a good bankroll and taking their swings at P4s/P5s and not playing much else.

Did very well last year, as Turfway fits well with my capping style of mid-to-high prices and beneficial to closers if not even deep deep closers. (At least last year it was that way.)

Outside closer won the first, not a surprise at this track. Take a shot in the 2nd with a Double: / .

First you have to identify if a late bias is in play like tonight. Like it or not you have to adjust what runners are better suited for the bias then the connections. You do this very early and you have a shot at the 4 non maiden races like tonight.

That would depend on how you play (attack) the game.

I can see your point from a standard handicapping perspective.
Fortunately when using a tote analysis it can very often weed out the uncertainty when there's chaotic betting which indicates that a race may be wide open. This also leads one to potentially avoid playing this type race altogether.

On the other hand, it will also demonstrate when the wagering from ALL the available betting pools being observed indicate that certain entries are receiving positively biased amounts of money during the various betting cycles. They automatically become the entries of interest. Recognizing how these specific betting patterns can affect the outcome of a race leads to the ability of properly structuring a potential bet from the entries of interest.
