DRF - Different fractions for same race

Has anyone noticed that internal fractions (and even final times) for races in DRF sometimes change over time for the same race? I'm going through DRF .csv files and finding examples in which the internal fractions shortly after a race are restated in later versions.

What's happening here?

Thanks!

The chart data is constantly being corrected for all sorts of things - including timing errors.

Thanks, Jeff. Frustrating that they can't get this right the first time. Maybe we could all pitch in to buy them a good old Casio stopwatch for Christmas.

Do you personally go back and restate these in your programs? If so, how do you identify these instances in which the fractions are changing? Programatically? Manually?

Thanks for your insights into this.

I redownload and reprocess all available chart data from my data provider (HDW.)

I do this programmatically about once a week.

I found reprocessing everything to be easier than identifying which chart files have undergone a change since last time (or which ones have undergone a change type that merits reprocessing) and rehandling those only.

Hope I managed to type most of that out in a way that makes sense,

I didn't even know those files were updated.

I usually do my chart downloads and imports once a week. So I'm probably catching some corrections and missing others. Fortunately, I don't do too much with the chart fractions.
