I had a gun pointed at me today....again
Have any of you or your family ever been victim of a violent crime?
Crime has been part of my life.
Members of my immediate family have been murdered and I've been shot at and subjected to savage beatings by gangs and the police.
Two weeks ago one of my nephews was murdered in Florida.
I remember playing with him when he was young.
He liked holding on to the ceiling fan and spinning around. Funny kid.
I don't want condolences, so don't offer them.
My mini-van is easily identifiable.
The Houston Police Foundation sends me decals in exchange for my donations.
I stick the decals on the rear drivers side windows of my vehicle, along with an American Flag decal.
Today I was driving on the same route that I always take to the supermarket.
When I got to a corner that I always turn right on, I noticed lots of cars there along with a group of young men. Nothing suspicious, a Christmas get together I figured.
When I turned right, I looked in my rear view mirror and I saw a 20ish man wearing a dark coat and a white sweatshirt pull a gun from under his overcoat and point it in my direction.
I kept driving to the store, bought batteries for my smoke detectors, bread, ham and I couldn't resist a box of Swiss rolls.
While driving back, I passed the house with the gunman again and no one was outside.
It's much colder than usual today in Houston.
Be Safe and whether you like it or not,
MERRY CHRISTMAS

I would drive to the grocery store through a different route.

I would like to hear your stories about the gangs and the police brutality towards you! I am sure others would be interested also.

There are no more safe routes to anywhere in Houston.
The mayor started that no bail no matter what stuff here, and the crime/murder rate has sky rocketed.

Those stories are here somewhere on PaceAdvantage.
Growing up in the 60s in the South Bronx was tuff, but if I had to do it all again I wouldn't change a thing, except for the beatings and the gunfire.

The only truly safe time to be on Houston roads is when the streets are flooded.

Very disturbing, Money.
I'd have to relocate from such a place before I started shooting back and lose track of what life is about.
Glad you're around today.
