Well for one thing, Forbes hasn't admitted anything. This piece is an OP/ED.

Yeah, but according to the article, there are also swallows in Oregon, Washington and other states. Time to clean the Bar-b-que and pump up those bicycle tires.
Of course this is only happening in states which are setting up insurance exchanges. In the Neanderthal Republican states, things could be quite different.
It's like if Obama were selling umbrellas and the Repubs say, we're not buying an umbrella from that guy. So, let 'em get wet.

And I don't expect they will. It doesn't fit their world view. What you read in that "OP-Ed" is fact. This is what the exchanges are charging. All that other stuff was prediction-and not very good prediction at that. 50% off.

There is no way you add millions of people to the pool and lower costs.
Obama care is bad news.

Sammy,
you're preaching to the choir....
There was a thread here if I recall correctly, where many of us were posting our increases...I dont recall ONE single person stating a decrease.
So, let them say what they wish.....
What they are selling and what is reality is two different things!

This is not that complicated. Let me try to explain it to you. This thread is about premiums that will be charged by the California insurance exchanges. It has nothing to do with your premiums or mine.
The predictions were that the exchanges would be charging $434 to $450 a month for the average silver plan. The reality, as revealed to day-is that the cost will be $276 a month. Maybe in Louisiana $276 is more than $450, but in Illinois it is considerably less.
You said your premiums went up. Was that for 2014 or was it for 2013? Because many of the cost saving provisions in the Affordable Care Act do not take effect until 2014. Unless you already know what your premiums will be in 2014, you should, like, shut up. I wouldn't want you to look stupid........er.
ETA: BTW, I'm in the choir and Sammy is not preaching to me.

Ok, an op/ed writer for Forbes is admitting that he was wrong and that Obamacare is driving insurance rates down in 3 states. I admire Forbes for printing an "opinion piece" riddled with facts and an admission of being wrong by its author. I would love to be privy to some of those discussions about printing this article, that contradicted about a dozen other articles they have published about Obamacare.
