Nice hit Gary !!! I guess since Game Winner was not in the race Tacitus took his place and raced wide every step of the way.

Unlike being bullied a zillion times @ Gulfstream, and in the Derby, I don't link this one to 'tentative Tyler'.

Could have easily happened to anyone. Had Jose Ortiz had Tacitus in 'better' position, same thing would have happened when Rosario swung Sir Winston out for room.

Tacitus too wide and one-paced, Sir Winston got a good trip and fired a nice race. Best two in the exacta today.

I think it is pretty clear Tacitus was the best horse and Joel was the best rider, and in this case the rider carried more weight. It happens, best horse doesn't always win but I think it would be hard to argue that Sir Winston was really best today.

This crop, and heck the 4 year olds, are just begging to be whipped by a late developing three year old.

While I think he might win with a clean trip, I still think Mitole was the best in the Met. Put another way, if McKinzie gets through and wins by a length with what would have been a perfect trip, was he really best given the trips and race shape?

He was part of the reason I put a few bucks on the winner. He has a knack for getting horses to the rail and I was not sure you could win without being on it.

It doesnt always pay off since you have traffic to deal with but given the bias and price it felt like a reasonable risk.

Yep....he's fantastic.
The ride on Catalina Cruiser on Fri was also brilliant.

He got a bomb up for 2nd in the Preakness, and another longshot 2nd in the Black Eyed Susan
