Omaha Beach won’t hit the board. He isn’t fast enough to make the front or maintain a high enough cruising speed to stalk. He’s going to sit the same trip Mendelson sat last year. Hot Take?

Could Baffert possibly pull a switch by getting Mike Smith "back on" Roadster and kick Geroux off the mount?
I mean it sounds awful, but Smith is the only guy that has ridden Roadster.

If you look at the individual splits for Roadster that big move entering the stretch was an illusion. Roadster's time for the 4th quarter was :25-2/5 according to Trakus. He could, however, come up big in his 3rd start off the long layoff.

That's the way I see it as well. The leaders basically fell back to him.
The splits also illustrate this:
24.50, 24.36, 26.14, 12.94
I highly doubt he gets that 1.78 second break in the Derby 3/4 to mile split. Some suggest the horse fits the turf mold better and perhaps fitting he gets a top turf rider. Ultimately, he's a reluctant toss from the exacta and possibly the trifecta for me.

In a wide open Derby, Cutting Humor is my choice. He has the fastest mile and an eighth by almost two seconds. He has one of the top finishes (last 3/8) this year and he is working brilliantly. And now he goes from a good rider to one of the best.

Major sleeper. Nice mid post too. Not sold on him FTW but will prob use him on top in exotics anyway. Currently down from 30-1 to 21-1. I can't even guess what he'll be at post time tho.

I saw the video interview w/Mandella. Just breezing for now. He's in Beholder's stall. coming off trapped epiglottis surgery.
Not saying if he's going to travers, etc. I think probably not, Mandella doesn't rush horses.
interview starts a 1:00 or thereabouts:
