Super Bowl Predictions

I'm a little late as the season has already started.

I'll guess Niners v Jaguars

Who ya got?

After 2 weeks, my SB picks are San Fran and Baltimore. They both seem pretty complete: O, D, and special teams.

I like the Niners to win it, placed a futures wager on the NFC entrant at +2

The crazy was the start of the season has gone, predictions NOW will be full of holes not too far down the line.

Do others have this problem? Now that Prime, ESPN, Paramount network, NFL networks....ALL have license to SOME, but not all of the games like Sunday Ticket used to have, it costs a damn fortune to sign up to see all the games!

The Super Bowl usually has the hot teams, and the hot streaks in the NFL rarely go beyond 4-6 weeks in this era of free agency, lack of depth and the QB position being uber critical.

So that's my way of saying that picking the matchup and outcome of the Super Bowl isn't a whole lot easier now, with three weeks to go in the regular season, than back in early September. Though I suppose some teams like the Vikings (the team I root for) are an easier toss now.

A few weeks ago I thought KC was a shoe-in for the AFC side of things, thinking the revenue stream from Taylor Swift camera shots was too green to pass up. But I guess the bad blood is beginning to build, as she was booed in New England over the weekend.

So, I'd go with:

Miami 35
Dallas 27

(saver play on Tampa Bay)

Tough year. League is pretty even from top to bottom outside of a handful of teams like the Pats, Cards, and Panthers that are the true bottom feeders. Each team has enough dudes to be a problem in any given week for any team.

San Francisco probably has the most talent on both sides of the ball, and can win games on both sides of the ball. Dallas is on the come, but not sure they can get it done on the road. Philly will get their sh*t together, and Detroit is no pushover that can put up points on just about anybody. NFC is a dogfight with their top tier teams being tougher than the AFC in my opinion.

In the AFC the Chiefs have struggled this year, but you still have to beat the champs when it matters. As a Fish fan, I just can't see Miami making a deep playoff run unless they get home field throughout. Ravens hold on to home field, they look tough, but they just can't seem to get it done in the playoffs with Lamar at the helm. Wouldn't count out the Bills if they make it in. They will be a tough out that can win anywhere. Starting to really like the Browns out of the AFC to be honest. They have the best D in the league and can grind games out come playoff time with a now 'grinder' at QB in Flacco.

So...., I'll go with:

San Francisco vs Cleveland

KC had an easy schedule and is 'coasting'. They are a danger to wake up.

going Home Team Ravens for this exercise.

Buffalo over Balt. But I'm very weak in my football knowledge...it seems Buff. is a longshot.
Obviously Dallas, S.F., Kansas, Balt. are the favs.

There is a theory that has been going around the last few years that people can "project" what team or teams could be in the Super Bowl. And they base it on the colours of the Super Bowl logo of the current year. I just saw this a few weeks ago.

For example, 2023 colours were Red and Green. Projected teams are Chiefs and Eagles. Ended up being Chiefs and Eagles

2022: Colours were Orange and Yellow. Projected teams are Rams and Bengals. Ended up being Rams and Bengals.

2021: Colours were Red and Yellow. Projected teams are Chiefs, Cardinals, Rams, 49ers and Bucs. Ended up being Chiefs and Bucs.

So, for this year, those teams would be right now since the colours for Super Bowl are Purple and Red those teams would be Ravens, 49ers, Chiefs, Bucs.

Teams can change obviously, but if the season ended right now those would be the teams to "win it all".

Current Super Bowl Odds (as of this morning)
49ERS: +225
RAVENS: +550
CHIEFS: +700
BUCS: +10000
