Race 5 Lifeline Express (10-1) Has put in good efforts in all 4 of his races so far, finished beaten by 2 in his last after racing three wide without cover in his first try going in the turn.

Race 6 Ariel (12-1) Has run second in his last two and hoping he runs second again here to #7 Patch of Theta. Likes to run on the lead and draws in with a nice mid-pack barrier and picks up a 10 pound allowance with the bug boy on. He doesn't like to win but he's honest.

Race 7 California Spangle (12-1) Should be the speed while breaking from the three gate in a 10 horse field. Taking the cheek pieces off and is shortening up after tiring mid-stretch going a 1.600 against Voyage Bubble who just missed out in his last against Romantic Warrior. Don't know if he's good enough to beat Lucky Sweynesse who's coming off the Vets' list and Beauty Eternal but will take a shot at the price given right now.

Race 8 Heroic Master (25-1) Both his wins in Hong Kong have been at the Wednesday track, chased a lone speed easy winner while being wide into the stretch. Picks up Bowman for Frankie Lor, hoping there is enough pace for him to close and run in the money at that price.

Race 9 Happy Together (10-1) Is 2 for 2 at Class 2, finisher second at 2-1 in his last after a bad break against Class 1 runners. Have to outkick #2 Five G Patch in the lane.

As usual a very competitive card.

I started out with limited opinions; but they've expanded. And my real problem is I have to settle for jocks I don't like.


Race 3 - Master of Luck - passed 6 horses last 200M- draws wide again and Avdulla, who couldn't keep him on the correct lead in the stretch last out, stays on.
Happy Jai Jai - wakeup race last out, chasing 3 wide no cover. And we're rewarded with Purton, in other words, UNDERLAY

Race 4 - Hercules - Avdulla again

Race 5 - Ernest Feeling - stewards list last race but nice trial to get off- needs to get and stay inside

Race 7 - Joy of Spring - Avdulla again

Race 8 - Turin Mascot - passed 8 horses last 200M. And Teetan wasn't even able to get/keep him in a drive.

Race 9 - Seasons Wit - Couple of nice trials.




Btw Happy Together gave me my toughest beat of the season (on Champion Dragon)

Overlays as of midnight Eastern for Happy Valley Wednesday morning.

Race 1 6.40am ET
Happy Tango (7-1) Just won in his last going wire to wire paying $42.80 at Sha Tin while breaking from the 11 gate with the short run to the turn going 6, gets a better draw and is shortening up. He is only 1 for 26 at the Valley but likes to run in the money here.

Race 5 8.40am ET
King Eccellente (10-1) Hate the draw here but has run well from outside barriers in the past, ran into all kinds of trouble in his last after finally getting into form in his three before that.

Race 7 9.45am ET
Joy of Spring (10-1) Finished well going 7 at Sha Tin after getting no pace help and racing three wide without cover after breaking from an outside post. Unfortunately, the computer gave him another wide draw for his first race going long.

Race 9 10.50am ET
Seasons Wit (11-1) Ran a poor effort on the dirt 38 days ago while breaking from the 10 hole, now is back to the track he much prefers with a much better draw. If Bowman was allowed to ride today would have most likely been on his back and he would be a lot shorter than with the 5 pound bug here. Hopefully, his back class will show here and he runs with the #5 Beauty Charge.
