I will check out that blog, and

on the way to work I just bought the Daily News - haven't even checked
the DW list yet. I suspect his #1 or #2 Dublin got lowered a few...

most tracks will let you up on the roof or in the press box to practice if you ask the announcer. it's the only way to practice really, doing it off the tv is not even close to doing it in person.
The Balls don't stink!

In my long ago student studies of Greek Mythology it was Ulysses, You-Liss-Ease, so perhaps we should change the colts name? For the record, I like Richard Grunder, and find his distinctive voice and style quite good.

Ever watch Australian racing? Those guys are outstanding.. They are extremely good at calling very close photos that most US announcers wouldn't dare have the guts to do.

I can't speak for "most" US announcers but speaking personally, I have no fear of calling a photo. But having said that, if I'm not TOTALLY sure I will be honest with the public and say something like "Looks like so and so in a very tight photo" or "so and so may have got the bob". I agree that it is a service to the public to call the photo whenever you can, ESPECIALLY given the fact that we are on the wire and do have a "birdseye view", and others watching on television often have a slightly different camera angle.............
