So, the race will be run at 4:30am on Sunday morning?

Funny how their derby has 4 yr olds.

I'll take TIANCHI MONSTER

Thanks guys.

If I can coordinate the schedule and muster the energy, I'll look at making a play.

Supposedly the Chalk has a terrible post position? Can anyone confirm? Will have to re-watch that distance and see if I see the bias...

Always been fascinated with Hong Kong racing.

International Stakes are a somewhat reasonable proposition in that there is generally form. If you can decipher what is a true effort vs. a prep (not sure if that is as big in Hong Kong as it is in Australia), and you have access to the videos, it's a lot like handicapping Tampa! Just put it on mute and watch the races, watch the trips, etc...

Lot of money in racing, and Hong Kong is such a nice market.

Love Hong Kong, but I am too tall for America as it is, and this dog is too old to learn any new language beyond a few basic romantic phrases . Would love to visit, and would love to trade information with those interested in that market, but probably not a destination.

Thanks again.

Very helpful post.

Going to take a look. If I do see anything to wager, I'll be up, at the crack of dawn.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Wake up to a winner??

every day is a win Every day alive on this planet is a win.

"The #1 has to take back wide into the first turn, which is going to be tough. Considering wheeling him exactly 2nd and 3rd... The #3FURORE is interesting; He's tried to close into slow paces."
FIN 3-1

In total, I did lose $0.13

Flat bet without the odds, and experimented with a wager not offered over here; the "omni/swinger".

While the 'gimicky' "wheel the 1 exactly 2nd" angle/trick did play out, it's evident to me that the real money was in the Win pool.
  1. The #1Waikuku took heavy favoritism (almost 2.8M!!! ) , in spite of insiders understanding that the trip would be challenging...
  2. The #8Enrichment was completely dead on the board...
  3. Of my contenders that left #3FURORE and #2Dark_Dream..
  4. there was a solid 'dutching' opportunity to share the risk and ballpark a profit target to go for. You still needed the #1 to have enough trouble and either the #2 or #3 to run a good, but if you were confident in that opinion as I was, the 'Win Dutch w/ 5/2 & 9/2' would have been the real play
  5. the gimmick quinella wheel that I got lucky and hit, should be relegated as a smaller-based wager/long-termROI play that you don't mind losing in any given race.

03/17 12:44 AM HK-Sha Tin 8 $0.13 WN (PWHL) 1, 2, 3, 8 $0.52 $0.77

03/17 12:10 AM HK-Sha Tin 8 $0.13 QN (PWHL) 2, 3, 8 / 1 $0.39 $1.00

03/16 11:57 PM HK-Sha Tin 8 $0.13 QN (BOX) 2, 3, 8 $0.39 $0.00

03/17 12:42 AM HK-Sha Tin 8 $0.13 OMN (BOX) 2, 3, 8 $0.39 $0.00

03/17 12:41 AM HK-Sha Tin 8 $0.13 PL 8 $0.13 $0.00

Full opinion from what I could gather before the race and the odds;

Today the pace will be honest. #8ENRICHMENT was up close to a fast pace last time and can sit a better trip today. Not crazy about the #13TIANCHI_MONSTER...The #9HARMONY_VICTORY is a long shot who has had his form darkened with bad trips, good jockey switch today. Really cool wagering menu, with some wagers having $0.13 minimums and an 'omni/swinger' wager that isn't offered in US racing.
