Now the morbidity is starting to play out

The effects of the current BUG are just now showing up long term, as, with MOST epidemics, it takes TIME to understand all of its manifestations.

from https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...over-treatment

quote: Based on current estimates, about 10% of Covid-19 patients develop lasting symptoms, one of the most common being fatigue. The underlying mechanism is still unclear, but possible explanations include reduced oxygen supply to tissues caused by heart or lung damage, or muscle weakness from prolonged bed rest.

However, some doctors are increasingly concerned about the overlap between long Covid and another largely virus-triggered illness: “It’s extraordinary how many people have a postviral syndrome that’s very strikingly similar to myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome,” said the US’s top public health official, Dr Anthony Fauci, in July. “They just don’t get back to normal energy or normal feeling of good health.”

Like people with ME/CFS, many long-Covid patients report headaches, brain fog, sleep problems, a racing heart, joint and muscle pain and fatigue. Some also experience a relapse of fever, muscle pain and exhaustion, known as “post-exertional malaise”, if they exercise beyond their capabilities.

“There are so many similarities between long Covid and ME/CFS it leads me to believe the underlying pathology is probably the same – except that long Covid is presenting as an epidemic, whereas ME/CFS has presented in a very sporadic way, and by no means in such large numbers in such a short space of time,” said Dr William Weir, a consultant in infectious diseases with a special interest in ME.

“That means when somebody gets exposed, it is taking 24 hours or even less for that person to become infectious to others.”

People contracting earlier strains of Covid could become infectious as early as day one or late as day 14, but the average was around five to six days.

A new strain of "19" is reported by "The Sun", in Australia, that can be called a "super spreader". The quote above, observed an increase in time for the spread of the disease. Very concerning!

We mustn't forget that he's a much bigger fan of animals than he is of humans, by his own admission. That says a lot.

It's a good thing we let states decide how to hard to clamp down back in the spring; it gave us many more data points for the study of this novel bug. Just think how little we might learn if all the states had to lock down in unison to the same degree.

Question: if Biden takes office, will we begin a Biden Death Count? Only seems fair.

Since there is NO Trump death count, I doubt that the newly elected president will inherit that title

Luckily Trump will be ending the pandemic as his tenure comes to a close, so Biden won't have to look so hopeless come February.

Same moronic logic that somehow Reagan ended Communism because he was there when it happened: let's just forget the decades of effort by all his predecessors.

How does that apply to the pandemic? Started and essentially ended in same year of Trump presidency.

Yes, by end of December the vaccines will be rolling into medical facilities to be disbursed to the public on a priority rollout. At 95% efficacy, I would imagine the virus will be largely snuffed out by March and will become a flu-like illness going forward, killing 50-70k every year.

So pandemic will end about a year after it started. Biden will get no credit for it and the Dems will no longer have an excuse to trample on the rights and freedoms of Americans.

when it ends you tell me...almost 2000 dead yesterday..

due to the enormity of the distribution ahead, MOST of the vaccinations will only be effective by the end of NEXT YEAR, if that

On what medical understanding is your very generous expectation actually based?

Healthcare workers will receive first priority (within the next 45 days, hopefully), then vulnerable populations. From everything I've read, the timeline for everyone is else is the late spring to early fall, with vaccine supply as the gating factor. But I hope you turn out to be correct.

it will never end as lower respiratory diseases have been and always will be in the world.
