Trakus is probably closer, certainly better than the official.

Saw a lot of talk about Gulfstream turf races this weekend, including some by myself. The times for the races with the no temp rail looked impossibly slow for a firm turf course.
I did some in depth research on races at the two distances that were run (7.5, 8.5f) and found there were no problems at all with the times or the distance of the races. The only conclusion I can draw is the course clearly was not firm. There is no way horses run that slowly on a firm turf course. Equibase should definitely step in here and change it, to yielding, or even soft.

Something here is very strange - don't believe there was any rain in the area of Gulfstream for awhile before their opening day, and considering the course had several weeks to rest it looked in nice shape & to my eye horses were getting over it smoothly. If the distances & times check out on your end, what can possibly account for such ridiculously slow times? Towards the end of the last GP meet the course was putting up usual times. Did someone forget to mow the grass when everyone was at GP West?

Probably the strangest thing I've seen with regards to race times. I can't figure it out. Trainers and jockeys were saying there was no way the course was firm, but even so, the times are so slow they defy belief. I don't know what you can do to a course to slow it down that much other than just flooding it with water or not cutting the grass for a long time. It didn't look overly wet or anything.
What I did was check the races this weekend against about a dozen replays on the same course and distance. If the times are wrong, they are all wrong. The time gap between the races this weekend and the races from June and July match the posted times.

All the 5f races last night were hand timed. I wouldn't trust the fractions or the final times of any of them. What a joke.

It is a joke. And for some reason there is no pan shot leaving the gate for the 3rd. Have no idea how they hand timed that race without a complete guess.

Listed in chart as hand timed, something that has been happening with alarming frequency.

Mahoning Valley, Races 5 and 6 on 12/30/17. There's no believeability with those times. However, it looks as though a snowstorm had hit because there were only 6 races (assuming cancellation due to weather conditions).

I don't think there are any problem with the fractions. The track was frozen that day and the times were really fast all around.

Race 3 today at Gulfstream is 0.70 seconds too slow. What is four lengths between friends?

For some unknown reason, Trakus changed the time of the Dania Beach (R11 today) which didn't need to be changed. They made it more than a full second slower than it really was.
