Have to take today's track into consideration as well. Heavy rail bias, and he didn't take any mud in his face.

He is beatable, but it will take a huge effort to do it.
I feel like Justify is fine tracking some silly speed dual, a fast pace is fine with him it appears.

I do think the mud benefits front runners hugely these days. I don’t know if this is new or what but I cannot remember the last time I saw a muddy horse win.

Justify also got the dream draw (and so did all the top 3). Send Justify from the 17 hole and GM potentially beats him. The Preakness should offer better posts to any that got hung today but Justify will be a tough beat at 3/5. Derby clock was slow so perhaps there’s a good grinder upset for Belmont.

American Pharaoh final derby time was 2:03, & the half mile pace wasn't as fast as today.

Huh? The 5 horse closed up the rail and there was inside bias all day. We'll see.

The clock was slow relative to other Derby slopfests. Will see the the figuremakers spit out but if Beyer gives it much more than 100 then most of the field would have regressed and in some cases dramatically.

The final time was pedestrian, how is that a dumb post?

Are you disputing that fact?

How many pedestrians have you seen walk a mile and a quarter in 2:04?

Final time wasn't great but I thought no way Justify wins when it was 45 and change. Hats off to the winner. I had Hofburg but whatever thought the race was won by a deserving horse regardless, great performance. Congratulations to all who made $ today.

Lukas will probably enter a 300-1 shot and the rest might be PARX allowance horses.

Bravazo will be in all three as long as he has 4 legs. I'm not gonna judge after Will Take Charge.

Sporting Chance, who appeared to check or steady down the backstretch in the Pat Day Mile, finished with some mild interest in the stretch to be fourth.

Wouldn't be shocked to see his hat thrown in the ring for at least the Preakness.

Okay, go and read every post of mine since I've been here and tell me once where I've been wrong, it sounds conceited but I post them before they run and that's just the truth.

Justify is the best 3yo at this time of year all-time, official times don't mean much without a variant and that's why I responded the way I did, it's not personal

Here's what I posted before they ran

Pretty much all in......

I think Justify is the best 3yo I've this seen this early in the year all-time.

The only horse that might beat him today is Bolt d'Oro and I'll have them in an exacta etc
